Who we are
Our NHS service encompasses all planned orthopaedic surgery, otherwise known as elective surgery. The sub-specialities include The Arthroplasty Service (hip and knee replacement), The Musculoskeletal Tumour Service, The Foot and Ankle Service, The Upper Limb Service and The Limb Deformity Reconstruction Service. What we do
Our individualised care combines well established, evidence-based techniques to improve outcomes for patients with a range of musculoskeletal problems. We constantly monitor our outcomes and evolve our care to ensure we are providing the best results for our patients. We have an established reputation for providing education and innovation in all areas of elective orthopaedics and our programme is committed to training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons. We run internationally renowned fellowship programs for overseas orthopaedic surgeons who have completed their orthopaedic training. Many of our consultants hold academic positions at The University of Edinburgh and run research studies, clinical trials including a Masters degree program in orthopaedic surgery.
