Who we are
Our NHS service in Sports Medicine is dedicated to providing excellent patient care, outstanding education for students, trainees, and fellows in the fields of sports orthopaedic surgery, musculoskeletal medicine and rehabilitation. Physical activity is fundamental to long term physical and psychological health. Our goal is to facilitate the return to activity of patients of all backgrounds, whether that be those wanting to keep active for health or enjoyment or for professional athletes returning to competition.
What we do
We deliver individualised, evidence based treatment. Our orthopaedic surgeons, sports medicine experts and physiotherapists have in-depth subspecialty expertise in complex, rare, as well as common orthopaedic sports medicine injuries and conditions. We pride ourselves on our inclusive team approach, which we feel is essential to provide the best possible holistic care and outcomes to patients throughout their journey back from injury. We run a globally competitive programme of clinical and translational research into sports injuries and their prevention.
