Visiting Fellowships
Since 2018 Edinburgh Orthopaedics has offered a two-week exchange visiting fellowship with centres in South Africa. During the fellowship the successful applicants will spend two weeks in Edinburgh, hosted by a senior trainee. Visiting fellows will participate in clinical and educational activity, whilst taking time to explore the city of Edinburgh and beyond. The visit concludes at the Winter-SCOT meeting, where fellows will socialise with trainees and consultants from around Scotland at the famous ‘Burns Night’ supper. A reciprocal two-week trip sees an Edinburgh fellow hosted in South Africa with similar clinical and social activity on offer.
